Stamping Out Bugs in StatReport

Along with eBooks, comes StatReport, which is a data collection, reporting and statistics system for eBooks. StatReport provides all kinds of data about ebooks, like how many people have registered to see any ebook, the number of page views of each ebook page/spread, how many times an ebook has been opened etc.

Recently some bugs were fixed in StatReport.
Here's a list of them:

  • Some eProofer links were broken. All of them were fixed today.
  • Generating a report in excel providing all REO registered ebook users was broken. It was a setting in an underlying script setting the wrong amount of memory to be used. Fixed yesterday.
  • Generating a report for an eBook with an apostrophe in the eBook's title wasn't working because there was an apostrophe in the title. This was fixed last week. (There can be apostrophes in ebook titles now, without reporting problems.)
  • Scheduled emails of reports providing all users of an ebook family weren't working. The problem was two missing apostrophes in the code. This was fixed last week. An ebook family is a number of ebooks that are together considered an ebook family; it's a grouping of ebooks together.
  • For a couple eBooks, StatReport was displaying an error because of the way some page descriptions were set. Page descriptions are descriptions of ebook pages that are used in tracking page views to ebook pages. This was fixed and won't be any further problem.
